Project Description
This architectural poster showcases Alexander Calder’s iconic Flamingo sculpture, capturing the dynamic interplay between art and space. The design emphasizes the bold, graceful form of Calder’s towering steel structure, set against the backdrop of Chicago’s urban landscape. The composition highlights the fluidity and geometric elegance of the sculpture, drawing attention to its integration within the architectural fabric of the city. The poster reflects the intersection of public art and architecture, inviting viewers to contemplate the relationship between sculptural forms and their urban surroundings.
Before reaching my final product, I brainstormed different compositions and chose the one that most effectively captured the essence of Alexander Calder’s Flamingo sculpture. I created sketches in small scales and used paste-ups to make it easier to move elements around, experimenting with layout and balance until I found the most dynamic arrangement. This iterative process allowed me to refine the composition and ensure the final design conveyed both the sculptural form and its relationship to the surrounding space.

The final piece was scanned to blend vibrant colors, graphic elements, and thoughtfully integrated typography. The design captures the essence of their music, reflecting the rhythmic fluidity and emotional depth that defines their work, making it a visually engaging tribute to jazz.
Art Expo Poster

Project Description
For my Core Studio class at the School of the Arts Institute of Chicago (SAIC), we were assigned to create a poster for an event. I chose to design a poster for an “Art Expo.”
I developed an abstract and bold design, featuring a vibrant gradient structure in the center to draw attention. To enhance its versatility, I created two versions—one in black and white and another in full color. This approach allowed me to explore the visual impact of the design in different contexts while emphasizing the dynamic nature of the expo itself, ultimately conveying a sense of creativity and excitement that invites viewers to engage with the event.
